GLAZED!

for Wella UK with Jordanna Cobella

A colourful direction.

We recently had the pleasure of working with hair colour extraordinaire Jordanna Cobella to design a stunning photoshoot for Wella's new Shinefinity range. Located at the beautiful Feya Cafe in Knightsbridge, this shoot was designed to truly showcase the beauty and versatility of Shinefinity's range of colours.

Our team worked closely with the stylists, make-up artists and the Wella team to create the perfect look and feel for this shoot. We utilised the complimentary colours that surrounded us in Feya Cafe so we were able to capture a variety of vibes and colours that truly embodied the Shinefinity range.

The results were simply breathtaking – from striking brunettes to daring reds, our talented team made sure to highlight each and every hue of Wella’s newest product. We used lighting design to work around the confines of the space to make sure the hair looked smooth, glossy, and soft – just like the Shinefinity range promised!

A massive thank you to our fantastic crew

Multi edits

We planned and shot the film in advance in order to create two distinct edits of the same footage - one focused on the consumer, and the other being tailored to hairdressers. This approach allowed us to make the films more effective and impactful, ensuring that both audiences could benefit from watching it. When creating the edit for hairdressers, we included more of the process to show the product in the salon. By contrast, when creating the consumer-focused edit, we included more general product information and visuals that would be easy for consumers to understand. This dual editing system allowed us to create two films from one shoot that had distinct messages for each audience.

Hairdressers Journal featured an incredible five photos from the collection on their front covers. This is the most ever given to a single shoot by the magazine!

Not only were these images featured, but multiple advertorials featuring them were also included.

The remaining photography was used across Wella’s social media channels, and website and was made available for display in-store. One image was even printed onto a giant wall mural at Wella’s flagship London Studio, providing customers with an up-close look at their latest collection.

Wella’s on TikTok

Wella is undoubtedly showing its determination to keep up with current trends, launching onto the popular platform TikTok. To ensure they could both capture content professionally and send a message that resonated with its target audience, we adapted our shooting style to include phone footage to make it look native to the TikTok platform. Not only does this show how committed Wella is in staying ahead of the curve, but it has also provided a way for them to further promote their campaign and Shinefinity product line to an entirely new audience. We had great fun working with both Luke from Wella and the models creating this content.
